Charlotte Walsh, founder of The Silicone Straw Company and mum of three, is on a mission to make it easier for families to live greener in a simple, everyday way.
Living in the Yorkshire Dales, Charlotte spends time with her family by the river, picnicking and paddling. But the aftermath is not always so idyllic. Plastic bottles, coffee cups, sandwich wrappers and straws drift downstream, a reminder of how much single use plastic ends up where it does not belong.
Seeing the impact on the place her family loves sparked an idea. Drawing on over 15 years of manufacturing experience, Charlotte set out to create a practical alternative to single use plastic straws.
The result is a range of reusable silicone straws that are simple, durable and thoughtfully designed. Made in the UK using high quality food grade silicone, they are designed to be used again and again, offering a straightforward alternative to plastic and paper straws.

While some companies choose to manufacture overseas, we will always produce our straws here in the UK. It is better for the environment and supports the local economy, while allowing us to stay in control of our ethical impact.”
